Great place, bigger than it looks in the pictures, great location!

Brett's home is beautiful - the windowed back wall that opens to the big back garden is wonderful to wake up to every day. The orange tree was filled with fruit, and the garden visited with butterflies every day. Next door, a mockingbird gave us lots of song. If you're a nature lover, this is a great place to be. It's a quick bike ride to the French Quarter, and walking there is pretty easy too. You can walk to the riverfront path easily too. It was nice and quiet - no noisy neighbors at night. There are some great restaurants in walking distance, St. Roch Market in particular, and a great natural foods grocery right across the street.

Our stay was fabulous! Directions for check in and check out could not have been easier. The home was very clean and neat with all the amenities. Plenty of linens and supplies, great ambiance, very nice back yard and deck. The orange trees were in full bloom, looked beautiful and smelled even better! When we got back in the evenings it seemed just like home and is very private, however the neighbors were all very friendly. We helped to rescue the neighbors lost cat under the house! Communication with Brett was very easy and would certainly plan on coming back again. Thank you so much, Brett!

We were so happy with the charm, convenience, and welcoming hospitality staying here. It’s lovely to enjoy a walk in the morning away from all the tourists and take in more of what New Orleans is all about, yet still close to the action. The high ceilings and decor beautifully reflect the style of the neighborhood. Brett’s prompt replies and thorough info about anything is very helpful and appreciated too! Some local suggestions from us! $1 happy hour oysters at St. Roch Market (if a weekday), lunch at Morrow’s, and morning coffee at Who Dat. Crescent Park was also a different spin on seeing the city from the Bywater. We hope to return again!

Brett's home in Marigny was the perfect place for us to stay for our Halloween vacation. A great introduction to the city, it was a comfortable home with an inviting space, beautiful light, and warm and relaxing backyard. The neighbors next door were very friendly and helpful as well. Brett provided us with a book of thorough information to access the house to it's fullest as well as the neighborhood and local attractions. I really enjoyed the neighborhood for it's laid back feel, which is exactly what we needed when we weren't in the middle of the Halloween scene. It is located a quick walk to Frenchmen St., which had amazing music and entertainment, but was quiet enough that we could relax after a long day. We walked to Bourbon several times and enjoyed the people watching. We were a group of three but the property could easily accommodate more and came with pretty much everything we needed. From the check in regarding a storm alert to offering a late check out, Brett was an amazing host the whole time. I definitely will stay here again when I come back to New Orleans and would recommend it to others!

All around great home nestled in between the Marigny and Bywater. Location cannot be beat. Quiet and relaxed neighborhood strikes the perfect balance for travelers who want easy access to all the great spots but don't want to be in the middle of a boisterous throng. The home itself is beautiful; hard wood details and excellent outdoor patio space (my favorite part). The bathroom, shower, and tub are are spacious and luxurious. Check-in and out was a breeze and the hosts are clearly top-notch pros who add a personal touch of hospitality ... Will definitely rebook on my next trip to NOLA!

Brett's place was beautiful - spacious, airy, sunny. We spent a morning sunbathing on the back porch and it was lovely. We were a group of five women and were very comfortable there. There was a bit of a problem with the water pressure during our stay, but Brett was quick to remedy the problem. It's a great location, within walking distance of wonderful places to eat, local bars, Frenchmen Street, and even the French Quarter. I would love to stay here again. The only thing is while there we were approached by a local who very courteously brought up the issue of gentrification to us, and being a group of social justice advocates we were left wondering about our role in that.

From booking to heading home after five days this was a great experience for us. The house was as advertised as found recently renovated with a great open concept kitchen and living room plus comfortable sleeping arrangements for five adults. Great private outdoor area in the backyard. Brett responded quickly to a pocket dial on our arrival making sure all was okay and checked in one more time as promised the next morning to make sure all good. We had a rental car, no problem parking on the street. Private access to the home with a security system inside. 10 minute walk to the top end of Frenchman Street, 25 minute walk to Bourbon Street. 3 minute walk to the St Roche Market that is a must visit, one of the coolest spots I have encountered in my travels. Have the parrot drink at the bar in the far corner. Lots of other support stores within a short distance should you need something. We would definitely stay here again if we were travelling with the same size group. Thanks Brett!

Very comfortable, cozy house within walking distance of the French Quarter and Frenchman St. Home is a duplex with lots of privacy, and is in a safe neighborhood, and we had no problem parking our car on the street in front of the house. Brett was very easy to get hold of and he was very responsive as well. His home was well-stocked with paper products, and he provided recommendations for our vacation before and during our stay. Highly recommended Air BnB.

We had a great time in NO. Bretts place was a 15 minute to the Jazz Clubs in the Frenchman quarter. You were basically a 5-10 minute UBER to everywhere. We were not there often and except for an early morning train everything was great

The location can’t be beat - in between the French quarter and the Bywater in the heart of the Marigny. Grocery across the street and one block away from the fantastic St. Roch market for a great breakfasts 2 minute walk. We used to live in New Orleans so we can guarantee that this place has what you want and need for a stay there. The air conditioning worked really, really well which is important during the hot months. The space itself was roomy and private with a back porch and yard for hanging out. I would absolutely go back and do hope it’s available when that happens! We are a family of 3 with a 11 month old baby - we had plenty of space and the house was baby friendly. Also adult friendly - plenty of places to enjoy a cocktail on the property or nearby bars and restaurants.

We really enjoyed our stay at Brett’s home in Marigny. Brett was quick to respond to any of our questions & the house access & local info was thoroughly explained both by e-mail & printed upon access. The home was close to bus lines & trolley plus big market nearby for beer wine snacks. Close enough that our bag of ice made it home without melting! An easy walk to St Roch market for coffee-breakfast or lunch - many yummy choices. Safe & quiet neighborhood even at night but also reassuring alarm system. We did no cooking while there-it is New Orleans after all- but the basics were there to make & clean up. Washer dryer there too- so welcome after coming there right after another trip where it rained for 3 days. Bed was a double & quite firm but we woke up refreshed with no aches. I would highly recommend Brett’s home to any couple looking for a “locals” experience in the NOLA area.

We had a great stay here. The house is super cute with a whole wall of glass overlooking a huge garden/yard space. It was too cold to use the outside much but it made being inside just lovely. All amenities were as described with no issues - comfy beds, heat, kitchen supplies, etc. It’s on a residential street but across from a health food grocer, and a block or two from St Roch Market and coffee places, which made things very convenient. We also walked to Frenchmen, the Quarter, and other neighborhoods every day. The unit felt very safe since it’s in the back of the house and accessed by a locking gate. Hosts checked in on us a few time through email/text and were responsive to a few questions but we really didn’t need much - it was all really easy.

Loved the bright sunny apartment and deck opening out to the back yard. Excellent location and beautiful place, was a great home away from home.

Great place in the Marigny! The place was extra clean and very nice; better than expected. The bottle of wine for arrival was a nice touch. The location is incredible. Easy walk to the touristy parts and also to the less touristy areas in Marigny and Bywater. I absolutely recommend staying here!

This was a really excellent stay! Brett was really fast and clear with correspondences, the apartment is lovely, spacious, clean, and stocked with necessities. We made excellent use of the kitchen, too! Location is ideal--a 10 min walk to Frenchman Street for all your music needs, and walkable to some AMAZING brunch locations. The neighborhood is quiet at night, and neighbors are all courteous. Highly recommend.

Stay here! It's gorgeous -- and in a wonderful spot, with great music on Frenchman St in walking distance and amazing local bars and eats. Brett is extremely attentive -- we emailed him once with a question, and heard back immediately, and he emailed to check in on us. The house had everything we needed -- including an orange tree in the garden, and a washer and dryer. So lovely to be in this airy, beautiful space. Can't wait to go back.

Great place for a great value! The check-in/check-out process was seamless, place was very clean and well-maintained, and very well-equipped (kitchen utensils, gas grill, towels etc.) The neighborhood is also very quiet and feels safe. Brett and Stephanie were also great hosts as they bought a gas grill (brand new) when we asked if it is okay to have a BBQ session out at the courtyard. Thumbs up overall!

What a beautiful house! My boyfriend and I stayed here for a few nights with our friends, also a couple. Had multiple security features so we felt very safe. Beautiful backyard with citrus trees, which was a really fun bonus. Brett and Stephanie went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. Would definitely stay here again if we make our way back to New Orleans!

Brett’s place is perfectly located in a quiet but vibrant neighborhood, close to some great cafes and bars and less than 15 mins from all the action of the French Quarter. The place itself is well appointed with all the amenities you’ll need as well as a great yard for hanging out in the mornings and evenings. All in all, a perfect base from which to explore New Orleans while having a peaceful retreat to relax in. Also, Brett is an awesome host, who was very helpful and accommodating during our stay.

Brett and Stephanie are hands down the best hosts I’ve encountered! All entering instructions were great. The recommendations of near by markets and attractions helped us navigate flawlessly through our surroundings and when emailed, they are quick and intentional with their responses! The house is every bit what it shows in the pics and is seriously close enough to walk to almost any attraction including Bourbon St (maybe an easy 10 block walk), Frenchman st (4 easy blocks) and even The Marigny Opera House where we happened across an amazing jazz quartet free to the public! I suggest getting tickets to Preservation Hall (as we did) instead of waiting in line. You won’t regret it! Lyft is ALWAYS 2-3 minutes away if you choose to ride. I will ABSOLUTELY stay here again every time I visit the Big Easy! It is as promised in every way!!! I’ll throw in an extra star for Brett’s attention to detail! 6 Stars!!!

Wonderful place for a Mother-Daughter get-away. Clean and beautiful with abundant sunlight and fresh oranges-- just what we needed for a warm December week. The house felt safe and private. Good street parking. A great location for walking. We got as far as the Ogden Museum and it didn't feel like a chore as the architectural scenery along the way was so delightful. On the way back we stopped for delicious bowl of Pho soup at a very cute Vietnamese restaurant called 9 Roses. As past reviews have stated there is a convenient health food store across the street. Although I would make a trip to Whole Foods ahead of time to get fruits and veggies as the store across the street only had wilted veggies. Brett was easy to contact and quick to respond to my questions. Would definitely stay here again!

Loved staying here! Our group had plenty of space and the yard was rad too. With the co-op and St. Roch market being right there, it was nice to grab some healthy options. Brett was the quickest responder as well and was super accommodating!

We had an incredible, memorable visit to New Orleans for jazz fest and Brett was such a gracious host. He helped us with restaurant and activity recommendations, and even provided us with amenities like camping chairs to ensure we were comfortable during the days. This farmhouse cottage style home is set in a safe, colorful neighborhood near heathy eating options - which was much appreciated. It is clean and comfortable with a beautifully renovated bathroom and hardwood floors, a spacious backyard, and multiple air conditioning options. We will definitely be returning!

Beautiful home walking distance to Frenchman St. The host was super responsive and went out of his way to make sure our group was comfortable. The home is great for BBQs relaxing out of the heat. Perfect size for our group of 5. Could have fit 6 but it would have been tight.

This spot is beautiful! My friends and I enjoyed having so much natural light and a quiet place to rest on our trip, while still being within walking distance to or a short ride away from where we needed to be. Brett and Stephanie are great hosts.

This is a fantastic house in a great location. It's within a few blocks of great places to eat and a co-op grocery store. The neighborhood has tremendous charm. It's an easy walk to the French Quarter but sufficiently removed from the craziness. We were traveling with our 2 year old daughter and she loved the house, and the room she slept in was quiet and dark which helped with naps and bedtime. The backyard space is quite nice. Brett was a great host. He gave us lots of tips and suggestions, and the check-in was super easy. I highly recommend this for a family with young children.

Fantastic place in a great neighborhood in NOLA...eclectic, perfect for meandering and exploring, variety of awesome restaurants nearby (including St Roch Market, which is amazing) and easy walk into the French Quarter and beyond. Backyard is wonderful for an end of day glass of wine outside, house had plenty of space for our family of three and all the comforts you need to feel at home. Brett & Stephanie were incredibly gracious and helpful hosts.

Excellent location in the Bywater with great new restaurants in the area. We enjoyed the quiet neighborhood that was close to as much excitement as we wished to enjoy. We often walked from Frenchman back to this location and it was also an easy ride-share/cab location as well. The house was well apportioned, comfortable, and just what we were looking for. Brett is responsive and considerate and you should be very happy in this location for all your NOLA adventures.

I visited with 4 of my friends and it was perfect for the 5 of us. Even though there is only one bathroom, 3 people can use it at once given the way it is divided, which was very helpful! It is in a great location - a few cool bars within 7 min walking distance, a co-op across the street for groceries, and all that Frenchman St has to offer within 12min walking. The back porch was perfect for reading and drinking coffee in the morning and the natural light that comes into the kitchen and living room is wonderful. Would definitely stay again!

We really enjoyed Brett and Stephanie's house. The pictures do not reflect how airy and nice the living room actually is. Brett is a great host, quick to answer any questions and had great recommendations for our stay during Mardi Gras.

This is a great rental! We stay in the Marigny/ Bywater area quite frequently, and we thoroughly enjoyed Brett’s house. It’s in a perfect location to walk both Marigny/ Bywater, as well as the French Quarter. If you happen to be in town for any of the parades, the house is in an ideal location! The house is in walking distance to a bunch of restaurants and bars that are wonderful, and it was fully equipped with anything you might need during your stay! The backyard area is so green and lush and feels like an oasis. It’s such a nice touch that they provide a blue tooth speaker to take out there and enjoy some nice jazz in the garden. You can feel comfortable renting this space! We highly recommend it!

We had a great stay at Brett's place, despite there being potential for a hurricane the weekend we were in town. Brett was super cool, checking in on us making sure we were going to be safe at the house. Luckily, it was nothing more than a bit of rain but it was little touches like great communication and leaving a bottle of wine for us that made their place extra special. The house was great... comfortable with everything we needed and in a very convenient location. We wished we could have taken advantage of the great backyard and bbq but we'll just have to do it next time.

We had a great stay at Brett's. The neighborhood is just what we were looking for. You can walk to lots of things you need (dinner, coffee, groceries) or want to see -- the street car is close by -- city "blue bikes" are also very close (they feel heavy, but they roll along nicely and the city is super flat and easy to glide along in). The house is comfortable feeling, airy, not-fussy-but-feels-cared-for-and-thoughtful. For us, it was a sweet introduction to the city.

The space was exactly as advertised, impeccably clean and comfortable. The location was just a short walk to Frenchmen Street and other great NOLA spots. Having a location near, but not in the middle of, the busiest spots was perfect for our stay. Brett was the most accommodating and communicative host I've had in AirBnB. He checked in regularly to make sure that everything was up to snuff and was always helpful and polite. We had a great time in New Orleans, and staying at Brett's place was a huge part of that.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Brett's home in the Marigny. It's an airy, spacious, sunny and quiet apartment in a great residential neighborhood, walking distance to but away from the noise of the more touristed parts of the city. There were delicious restaurants nearby, and a natural food co-op and St. Roch Market within two blocks. Close to Crescent Park and the river, as well. The beds were really comfortable, and the back yard is amazing. Brett was extremely communicative, available and friendly. We hope to return again, and highly recommend this space to others.

Brett's house was the absolute perfect fit for our visit. It is ideally situated in Marigny making the French Quarter and Bywater very walkable along with dozens of great restaurants, bars, and music venues. The house itself offered a terrific place to return to each day and night. It is secluded, quiet and spacious. The beds were superbly comfortable and even New Orleans' summer heat and humidity were no match for the a/c inside. And perhaps most assuredly, Brett is a Pro Airbnb host. He maintained the perfect balance of being quick to respond while leaving us to enjoy our stay.

The place was great and the house was perfect with its own backyard and it is close to the French Quarter that you can have a quick Uber ride or walk the distance but far enough so you can get a good nights sleep in a quiet and comfortable neighborhood. We felt very safe thanks to the apartment's security features. Brett was an extremely good and professional host. Great Airbnb experience overall.

Great location just far enough away from the touristy areas of New Orleans, but within walking distance to Frenchmen street and the French quarter. The house had a great courtyard with nice touches throughout and close to the street car line to get back and forth from the French quarter. Great food co-op across the street and breakfast cafes just minutes away. Brett was a great host and was very prompt with any questions or concerns. We loved our stay and we will be back!

I just got back from a wonderful girls weekend stay at Stephanie and Brett's home. The house is in a fantastic location with many restaurants and bars within walking distance. There is even a small organic co-op grocery right across the street. The house was quiet, clean and comfortable. I could not have asked for a better stay.

Amazing location! We loved how it feels like a secret hidden spot in the city. Neighborhood was nice and hosts were super communicative and friendly. The co-op across the street and orange tree in the backyard are major perks. We will try to stay here again!

Outstanding stay at House of Toxins! Though Brett was away, communication with him was quick and thorough. The space is perfect for two couples. Well equipped kitchen, big bathroom, wonderful deck and big, shaded, private patio/back yard, street parking, comfortable beds, quiet. Big orange tree in back for daily fresh-squeezed. Easy walk to Frenchman Street, and just around the corner from St. Roch market (excellent up-scale fast food) Who Dat (breakfast), and the incomparable Gene's Po-Boys. Across the street from Cafe Istanbul performance space. Wonderful neighborhood in the process of gentrification with many beautiful renovations mixed with older homes and long-time residents. Don't miss coffee and beignets at Morning Call in City Park, barbecue at Joints in Bywater, and upscale NOLA cuisine at Upperline.

Brett and Stephanie's house was so lovely! The house is located an easy walk away from Frenchmen St and the French Quarter, and there's lots of food spots and markets nearby. The house is ideal for a group. I'd highly recommend staying here!

We really loved our stay at Brett’s house! The location is excellent, on a quiet street but within a walking distance to the Frenchmen St and the historic center, also for my 70-year-old mother traveling with us. There’s a nice co-op for basic groceries just across the street. It was a beutiful spring weekend when we visited in late March, and the little patio and the lush garden added so much to our visit. We didn’t meet Brett but he answered all of our questions extremely promptly and was very accommodating. All in all, a great stay!

First, hosts Brett and Stephanie were so great, and wanted to ensure we had everything needed to enjoy our time. The location was fantastic - walkable to downtown hot spots, and to some really good local neighborhood places (great recommendations from hosts!). The house was great, has a ton of character, pretty back yard, and very comfortable beds. Would stay here again in a heartbeat, and recommend it if you want a safe, quieter retreat just steps from all the cool spots NOLA has to offer.
